BE - GIRL Initiatives

we are passionate about helping girls and young women aged 10-16 build skills, confidence, and leadership

Our Passion

BE-GIRL gives girls a confident start, practical skills, and supportive mentors in one safe space. Through hands-on workshops and real-world role models, participants discover strengths, try careers, and build creative and technical skills that stay with them.

Small-group mentorship boosts confidence and communication, while team projects teach leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration. Cultural programming and peer support create belonging and pride, so girls leave energized, more focused on their goals, and connected to mentors and peers who keep supporting them after camp.

BE-GIRL PROJECTS

We also provide access to vital resources, including mental health support and various youth services, to build a strong social support system.

Join us as we embark on this incredible journey of inclusion, unity, and empowerment!

Let’s celebrate the richness of our cultural heritage and build a brighter future together.

Summer Camp

Mentorship Program

Small-group mentorship pairs participants with near-peer and professional mentors for consistent guidance, feedback, and encouragement.

Be-Girl Goals

Support girls in gaining confidence, developing career pathways, and forming lasting connections.

Foster leadership and self-confidence: Equip participants with public-speaking, decision-making, and goal-setting skills so they leave camp feeling empowered to lead in school, community, and future careers.

Build practical skills and economic opportunity: Provide hands-on training in trades, entrepreneurship, STEM, arts, and financial literacy to expand career awareness and create pathways to part-time work, microbusinesses, or further study.

Strengthen cultural belonging and supportive networks: Create inclusive spaces where Black girls and girls of all backgrounds form lasting peer and mentor relationships, access community resources, and develop emotional resilience.

Limitless learning and opportunities

Focused on empowering Black girls ages 10–16 (open to all backgrounds and abilities), the program mixes mentorship, hands-on skills, leadership, arts, STEM, and community service to help girls build confidence, career pathways, and lifelong connections.

Our Story of Success

Few words about us our impact.

When Asha arrived at BE-GIRL at age 13, she was quiet, unsure, and juggling a new life in Canada. Her family had recently immigrated, and Asha struggled to find places where she felt seen and understood. She signed up for Week 2 (Women in Trade and Entrepreneurship) because she liked working with her hands and wanted to try something different.

Community and Support BE-GIRL’s mentorship didn’t stop at technical skills. Asha had conversations about goal-setting, saving money, and balancing school and work. She connected with other girls who shared similar experiences.
